Metals

Rare Earth Metals

Rare earth elements are essential to the modern economy, powering trillions of dollars in global GDP across diverse industries, including clean energy generation, information technology storage, defense, mobility, medical advancements, and industrial applications.

Midwest is poised to supply approximately 15% of the rare earth magnets consumed annually in India. This includes Neodymium-Praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, a key component in manufacturing the world’s strongest and highest-quality permanent magnets.

facility

Our Facility

Midwest’s fully integrated operations bring mining, processing, separation, and finishing together in a single, closed-loop system. This streamlined approach significantly lowers costs and mitigates operational risks. With its remarkable geological advantages, the site features an average rare earth content of approximately 6%, far exceeding the global average of 0.1% to 4%. This gives Midwest a leading cost advantage in the industry. Our zero-emission facility is outfitted with advanced environmental systems, including a dry tailing process that recovers and recycles up to 95% of the water needed for beneficiation and tailings management. Strategically located near major highways, rail networks, and port facilities, the site ensures cost-efficient and seamless distribution.

REIMAGINING

manufacturing.

At Midwest Energy, we didn’t just set out to create a better Neodymium magnet—we set out to revolutionize the manufacturing process itself. By designing a method that reduces material waste, eliminates harmful byproducts, and lessens dependence on geopolitically unstable sources, we are addressing the industry’s pressing need for innovation while meeting market demands.

How did we do it?

It all begins with our process: a groundbreaking production system powered by cutting-edge technology, advanced automation, and—above all—a team of visionaries dedicated to reshaping the future of high-tech manufacturing.

Dependability

Less reliance. More dependability.

The current supply chain for rare earth elements and magnets is heavily centralized and volatile, causing supply shortages and cost fluctuations. China dominates more than 90% of the rare earth raw material supply and over 85% of permanent magnet manufacturing.

Our manufacturing process eliminates the supply and pricing risks that impede the development of high-tech, energy-efficient solutions. With a fully domestic operation, where over 95% of materials come from our own mines, our supply chain and raw material costs are insulated from market disruptions and fluctuations. This minimizes the risk of supply interruptions and unexpected cost increases, giving us a clear advantage over competitors.

THE BIG

OPPORTUNITY

As society transitions to an era of “electrification,” moving away from fossil fuels toward lower-carbon technologies, the electric motor becomes central to this shift. This evolution requires more efficient and powerful electric motors, a need that is fulfilled by rare earth permanent magnets.

IT STARTS WITH REDEFINING THE SUPPLY CHAIN...

Our process is designed around an abundant, alternative source of magnetic materials and the creation of a decentralized supply chain. By leveraging advanced techniques and technology, we minimize supply disruptions and stabilize costs. The result is a fully self-contained, closed-loop solution.

...AND ENDS WITH PRESERVING OUR PLANET...

Our manufacturing approach integrates up to 10% end-of-life recycling, eliminating the most environmentally harmful aspects of rare earth mining and magnet production. This method achieves 90% energy savings compared to traditional processes while reducing environmental impact by 50%.
